Grove Street Methodist Church has been at the heart of Retford for over 130 years and during this time has served the surrounding community not only as a church but as a venue for local groups and societies to meet.  The 450-seat church with pipe organ, digital piano, hearing-loop system, audio and IT equipment (including digital projector and screen) is ideal for concerts and lectures. 

There are also a number of rooms which can be used for a variety of purposes:
A spacious foyer,complete with coffee bar, can be used for different functions and currently hosts a Friday internet café.

Chapelgate Hall is a large, flexible modern space seating up to 100, which can be arranged in theatre/lecture or banquet settings.
Modular staging is available for talks or more intimate concerts.
It is set up with digital projection for presentations or conferences.
A hearing-loop system is installed.

Alongside is a fully-equipped professional working kitchen, including refrigerators, fridge-freezers, dish-washing machine and hot trolleys, which can cater for any function.  We currently hold Bassetlaw District Council’s Food Hygiene Standard 5-star highest rating for both kitchens.

Albert Hall is a smaller meeting room with the provision of an integrated area for making hot drinks and light refreshments.
The hall can accommodate 50-60 people depending upon the seating layout.  A hearing-loop system is installed.

Entrances to the halls are via Union Street and there is wheelchair access to all rooms, and toilet facilities for the less able.

All rooms and facilities are available for hire; with special rates for educational and charity users.
